If we go by the theoretical way, Sun is the hot burning sphere which touches one physically whereas Moon is the cool & calm sphere which has always been a emotional partner for most of the people. It's an easy yet complicated state that one would or wouldn't understand as the relation between the Sun & Moon is nevertheless different from the love bond shared by Fire and Water. A parallel relationship I suppose would be the right description in short.
